Lines and wrinkles on your face
Lines and wrinkles on the face develop over time as part of the ageing process. Horizontal lines appear across the forehead over time, through constant use of the muscles in your upper face and eyebrow area.
Frown lines, appear in between the eyes or above the eyebrow, when we show anger or irritation. Crow's feet or laughter / smile lines are lines and wrinkles around the corners of the eyes. Lines and wrinkles under eyes, clown wrinkles or ‘marionette lines’ are folds that run from the corners of your mouth down to your chin.
Dr Paulina can work with you to create a plan that reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles on your face.

What causes volume loss, crepey skin and sagging skin?
Everyone experiences volume loss and saggy or crepey skin as they get older, and the skin loses collagen. This can appear as a saggy jawline and jowls, thin lips, and sunken cheeks.
There are treatments and Dr Paulina Charlesworth can develop a personalised plan which will address your problem areas where volume loss has occurred.

Skin lesion/Moles
There are many different types of skin lesions, including warts, cysts, rashes, blisters, ulcers, and more. Each type has its own unique characteristics and requires a different treatment plan depending on the severity.

Ageing / Thin Lips
As we age, our lips can start to show signs of ageing. This is due to the loss of collagen and elastin in the skin which causes wrinkles and fine lines around the mouth area. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to help keep your lips looking young and healthy.

What’s the main cause of Acne?
Acne is a common and chronic skin disease involving inflammation of the sebaceous glands. It happens when hair follicles under the skin become clogged. Sebum oil, that stops the skin from drying out, and dead skin cells clog the pores, which leads to outbreaks of lesions, called pimples or zits.
Most of the outbreaks occur on the face but can also appear on the back, chest, and shoulders. The acne scarring that can remain after an outbreak can be permanent if not treated. Thankfully, with good acne treatments and at-home care, it’s possible to reduce acne scars considerably.

What causes Rosacea?
Rosacea is a persistent redness of the face, caused by sensitive skin. It is a persistent and common skin condition affecting around 1 in 10 people in the UK.
It affects the cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose. The redness and blushing across the face can often come and go. You may feel that it burns or stings when using water or skincare products.

Pigmentation: Sun Spots and Melasma
Pigmentation refers to dark patches or discoloration on the skin caused by an overproduction of melanin in certain areas. It can affect any area of the body but is most commonly seen on the face, neck, chest and hands.
There are several different types of pigmentation including freckles, age spots (also known as liver spots), sunspots and melasma.
One of the main sauses of pigmentations is sun exposure: Prolonged exposure to UV rays from sunlight can cause sun damage which leads to pigmentations such as freckles or age spots.
This type of pigmentation usually occurs in older adults who have spent many years exposed to direct sunlight without protection

Hair Loss and alopecia
Female pattern hair loss (FPHL) can also be called androgenetic alopecia. It is the most common type of alopecia (hair loss) in women and the severity can vary.
For most women, FPHL begins when a woman is in her 40s, 50s, or 60s. It can begin earlier for some women and is a progressive condition.
Women do not lose all of their hair, as do some men. Instead, your parting often gets wider and hair near your temples may recede. Without treatment, some women eventually develop widespread thinning.

What is a migraine?
Migraine is a specific type of headache that can happen with or without warning signs such as flashing lights. Although there are no direct causes for migraines, stress is one of the biggest triggers for migraines alongside tiredness and poor-quality of sleep.
At the time of the attack, it can make you feel very nauseous and/or sensitive to light.

Teeth Grinding
What is Teeth Grinding in Adults? Teeth grinding, also known as bruxism, is a condition where an individual grinds or clenches their teeth.
It can occur during the day or night and may be caused by stress, anxiety, sleep disorders, medications, substance abuse, misaligned teeth or jaw problems.
In adults it can lead to headaches and facial pain as well as damage to the enamel of your teeth.

Excessive Sweating
Excessive sweating, also known as hyperhidrosis, is a condition that affects millions of people around the world. It can be embarrassing and uncomfortable for those who suffer from it, but there are treatments available to help manage this condition.

Scars: acne scars, stretch marks, burns and surgical scars
There are several factors that can cause scarring on the skin including:
Injury or trauma: This is one of the most common causes of scarring as it occurs when there has been damage to the skin’s surface such as cuts or burns.
Acne: Acne breakouts often leave behind marks known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation which may appear like a scar but usually fades with time.
Surgery: Any type of surgery involving incisions in the skin can result in permanent scarring due to tissue repair after healing.

Treatment for Spider veins/Capillaries at our clinic in Sevenoaks
Spider veins are small clusters of red or blue blood vessels located close to the surface of the skin. They can appear anywhere on the body but most commonly occur on the face, legs, arms, chest, back or abdomen.
These veins may be visible through thin layers of clothing or when exposed to sunlight. While they do not pose any health risks in themselves, some people find them unsightly and seek treatment for cosmetic reasons.
What Are Capillaries?
Capillaries are tiny blood vessels found throughout your body which carry oxygen-rich blood from arteries to tissues such as muscles and organs.
Unlike spider veins which lie just below the surface of your skin; capillaries run deeper beneath it so they cannot usually be seen with a naked eye unless you have very fair skin tones or an underlying medical condition like rosacea (which causes enlarged facial capillary networks).
