The founder and medical lead

## Hello, I am Dr Paulina Charlesworth, nice to meet you

I am a GMC-registered GP and Board Certified Aesthetic and Anti-Ageing doctor with over 20 years’ clinical experience, founder and medical lead of Dr Charlesworth Clinic - advanced aesthetics, wellness and longevity clinic based at St Julians Members Club in Sevenoaks, Kent.

The clinic provides the latest in aesthetic treatments, skin health and longevity-focused care, combining evidence-based medicine with highly personalised aesthetic dermatology and medical wellness treatment planning.

It offers detailed health testing, bespoke prescription medication and/or compounded injectables prepared within our regulated on site dispensary as well as energy based devices designed to boost your body collagen, decrease body inflammation and promote natural rejuvenation.

The aim of my practice is to support patients not simply to look better, but to target body inflammation and 'inflammaging' from within making them feel stronger, healthier and more confident at every stage of life.

Over 20 years of medical & aesthetic experience

##### Medical background and training

I trained in Medicine and Surgery at Durham/Newcastle University Medical School, completed my GP specialist training in Tunbridge Wells and hold a postgraduate FSRH Diploma on female hormones, reflecting my long-standing interest in hormonal health, ageing and women’s health across different life stages.

Further specialist education

## Postgraduate Training and Memberships

Alongside my UK training, I undertook further specialist education in California, the forefront of personalised private healthcare and bespoke medication compounding where I achieved Board Certification with the American Board of Aesthetic and Anti-Ageing Medicine (ABAM).

I have trained in lifestyle and functional medicine with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, British Society of Lifestyle Medicine and completed Harvard Medical School’s Lifestyle Medicine and Wellness Coaching programme. I also hold specialist SCOPE Certification in obesity management and completed Dutch testing metabolism training in Amsterdam.

I am a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, the British College of Aesthetic Medicine, the British College of Functional Medicine and French IMCAS Academy.

I regularly attend UK and international conferences such as aesthetic medicine ones in London, Paris, Dubai or Monaco keeping up to date with the latest product and energy based devices innovations and continually improve my advanced injection techniques that include nano injections and multilayering combination techniques. Within longevity conferences I particularly value ones based in London and Scandinavia that focus on the root cause of a health issue while working closely with my colleagues from Atlanta, Florida, Huston and Boston on developing and bringing the latest evidence based treatments to the UK.

I am now continuing my education learning about nutrigenomics i.e. how to tailor our diets to our genetics with a Formal Longevity qualifications in Geneva.

Over the last 20 years I have appeared regularly on regional BBC and in national press discussing aesthetic regulation, patient safety in relation to dermal fillers and the wider health implications of excess weight including its impact on fertility, skin health and joint function. I have also contributed expert commentary on the long-term use of Mounjaro, with a focus on preventative strategies such as protecting bone density and maintaining muscle mass.

I was among the first clinicians in the UK to introduce private Mounjaro treatment within a structured, medically supervised framework. To date, I have carried out over 2,000 medical weight-management consultations and contribute to monitoring outcomes on off-licence metabolic and inflammatory outcomes of Mounjaro microdosing especially for autoimmune conditions and within neurodiversity and mental health.

I lecture at aesthetics conferences on the changing landscape of aesthetic medicine into a whole body longevity approach and responsible use of AI in healthcare, as well as embedding CQC compliance and safety governance within aesthetic practice.

Alongside my clinic work, I continue to practise one day a week as a GP in a local A&E department where I oversee GP clinics, teach prescribing and maintain relationships with the local consultants, specialists and local health care provision. This ensures my clinical judgement, governance and decision making remain current and grounded in frontline medicine and my emergency skills remain up to date.
